I was born in Vienna, Austria, and have lived back and forth between the US and Austria over the years. I take pride in speaking both languages as a native with a local dialect. People are often surprised by my ability to jump between the two languages at a moment's notice.

I have dual Austrian and US citizenship.

And yes... I own lederhosen.  

I learned how to row at the University of Michigan, and the passion for it has stayed with me ever since. I rowed in Vienna, coached a high school team in Charlottesville, and joined the Austin Rowing Club before I had even moved into my apartment. 

I met my wife rowing, and we have raced all over the country together. I even proposed to her in a boat during practice.
